Stockyard Melton Mowbray are pleased to be working in conjunction with Melton Borough Council on the Food Enterprise Centre project, building on the towns rich food heritage as ‘The Rural Capital of Food’. In addition to the fantastic food events hosted here throughout the year in collaboration with the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership; Stockyard is pleased be the home to a growing number of innovative and award-winning independent food producers including Round Corner Brewing and new for 2021 Brentingby Gin. Food Enterprise Centre (FEC) technologist service – free support & advice for SMEs in food & drink production
Melton’s new Food Enterprise Centre is offering a free food science and technology advice service for food and drink manufacturing businesses within the Borough of Melton. Initially you can receive up to 2 days support through direct discussion of your question /brief with the FEC local food technologist, Alice Jones.
The technical support and advice covers areas such as:
- Product development
- Research and innovation
- Process development
- Technical problem-solving
- Food safety, quality management and compliance
- Product evaluation and testing (analytical and sensory)
- Raw material supply and sourcing
- Scale-up (establishment / expansion / diversification)
You will also have the opportunity to be signposted and connected to further resources or local services available such as business advisors, facilities, colleges, universities, where relevant.
SME businesses and start-ups are especially encouraged to get in touch and utilise this free service.
